“Trash the Dress” or “Rock the Frock” is a fairly new term for preserving your wedding gown through photography. It started about ten years ago when couples were getting married at the shore and the bride decided to jump in the water after the reception. A photographer was on hand to capture the big “splash” and the rest is history. Now “Trash the Dress” has taken on a whole new meaning. Some brides will jump in water or destroy the dress entirely through other means like paint or fire. I know this idea is completely off-putting to many mothers of the brides. But modern brides have come to the realization that they can box their dress forever, knowing it will never see light again, or they can send it out with a photographic “bang”! I also want to note, it is NOT necessary to destroy the dress. Many of the brides choose to have a “trash the dress” session that does not fully ruin the dress. So what ever your preferences, David James Photography can creatively preserve your dress through pictures.
