Meeting with the Bride and Groom

I just had a great meeting with the bride and groom of an upcoming wedding I am photographing. Dom and Shiloh are getting hitched in April at the Downingtown Country Club. I hadn’t really had a chance to meet them yet because Shiloh’s wonderful mom has been coordinating everything with me. I am so glad we were able to get together to finalize their wedding day photography plans.

In most cases the meeting with the bride and groom happens in the beginning  of the process.  But due to their crazy schedule and one of the worst winters we have ever had here in Chester County. It had to be put on hold a bit but I am glad we finally met. Dom and Shiloh have a great laid back attitude that will photograph well on their wedding day.

When we met today at Molly Maguire’s we were able to discuss and finalize plans for their wedding photograph wishes. I think brides and grooms are always surprised to have so many questions flying at them from me. But I want to ensure they get the exact photos they envision for their day. Plus it gives me a chance to get to know them a bit and learn a little about their personality.

Meeting with the bride and groom also gave me a chance to learn a bit about their plans. I am so excited about what Dom and Shiloh are wearing. Rather, I should say what the wedding party is wearing. Each bridesmaid is wearing a different colored dress and the groomsmen are wearing a coordinating vest. Plus I love Shiloh’s choice to have the flowers match the dresses while matching her bouquet as well.

As soon as I got back to the office I started jotting down ideas in their file about shots I want to try on their day. I haven’t really shot a wedding as colorfully as theirs sounds and I am looking forward to it. In this day and age of computers and mobile phones, I always prefer a meeting with the bride and groom in person to get a true sense of who they are.

Congratulations Shiloh and Dom, I am looking forward to photographing your wedding day!
