Jonathan Redford is pursuing his musical dreams . . .
My friend Jonathan Redford is an amazing talent. I first met him when he came to work at QVC about three years ago, I could tell he was a bundle of energy and a true “everyman.” Jonathan would probably fit the term that is so overused and somewhat watered down in today’s jargon but he is a true renaissance man. Jonathan seems to be just as comfortable with a guitar as he is a hammer. Plus at the end of the day he can argue sports or economics with the best of them.
It would seem music is his true calling. Jonathan has sung and performed his entire life, he comes form a very musical family. In fact his dad is probably one of the most famous composers you probably have never heard of BUT I know you have heard his music! He has written and composed so many movies and television shows, I can not list them all here. So there is no surprise that Jonathan inherited his own musical gift. He has developed his own sound and has produced some great music. In fact, you check out his album on his website.
Last year Jonathan married the love of his life Tracey. They are truly a match made in heaven. Plus Tracey is a talent in her own right. She carries a multitude of dance, acting and modeling that has carried her from professional cheerleading to national tours. In fact, at the time of this blog. You can see Tracey in the Walnut Street Theater’s Production of “Grease”. These two are incredibly supportive of each other and their prospective careers.
Soon after they got married, Jonathan Redford made the decision to pursue his music full-time. He is concentrating on his new album which focuses on his and Tracy’s love and the beginning of their life together. I have only heard a few bits and pieces of his songs. I had him play a few while we were shooting some promotional photos. He needed a few new photos to use on his facebook, twitter and website galleries and I got a sneak peek at the new music. It sounds great!
We discussed the concept of the music and what he was hoping to achieve in the “look” of the photos. We also
discussed the album cover and hopefully we can shoot that concept soon. (It involves fire so we may have to acquire permits or, at the least, a fire extinguisher!) The promo photos we shot on location in Downingtown, PA. It is in one of my favorite rundown buildings. We wanted to showcase a “joy coming out of darkness”. I think we did a great job of showing the happiness coming out of ruins or sadness. It was a great shoot and I look forward to working with him again in the future. It may be a few months because right now he is off in Los Angeles working on a Huge TV proj. . . (Ooops, I’v said too much already!) Let me paraphrase, “He is on his way . . . literally!
